About the Firm

All work is done by David Saunders who has worked as a self-employed solicitor/costs draftsman/costs consultant since 2000 and has dealt with most areas of legal costs, including the drafting of civil litigation and family bills where the paying parties were defendants, claimants and the LSC or a combination of those.  He has also prepared solicitor and own client bills, points of dispute and replies etc. as well as negotiating costs settlements and attending assessment hearings.  He has advised clients on many points that have arisen and attended a number of training courses each year relating to legal costs including those related to the electronic bills which became compulsory in April 2018.

We believe that paying attention to detail is vital and all correspondence and other documents are read carefully to ensure that none of counsel's fees or other disbursements are missed from a bill. If a fee note or invoice is missing, a copy will be requested (directly from the issuer, if the solicitor wishes).  Any action needed to justify an invoice or fee note will be taken if there appears to be insufficient information to do so (for example, if an expert’s invoice does not have a breakdown of the time spent).
